The Step by Step Process



All applications are reviewed and evaluated by the IBTSA Certification Committee which consists of certified professionals and representatives from victim advocacy.  The Certification Committee makes recommendations for approval or denial to the Iowa Board for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.

There is a non-refundable fee of $40 for Certification and to be assigned your Certification Number.

STEP ONE:  Read Certification Handbook CLICK HERE

STEP TWO:  Fill out Application Forms for certification in detail (including all additional requested attachments) CLICK HERE

STEP THREE:  Compile complete packet ie.  Credentials, Forms, Certificates et al.

STEP FOUR:  Scan Packet and e-mail it to ibtsainfo@gmail.com

STEP FIVE:    Send $40 check to:
        Iowa Board for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers
        510 East 12th Street
        Des Moines, IA  50319

Upon receipt, you will be assigned a Certification Number which will appear on your SOTP Certificate.  You will need this number as you apply for re-certification in the future.  IBTSA will not consider your application for certification until your $40.00 is received.  (NOTE:  There is no fee for recertification.)

NOTE:  When submitting your application for certification, be sure to retain a copy of all forms/materials for your file. IBTSA will not be responsible for retaining applications.

Applications that are incomplete, illegible or unclear, or which do not follow the instructions may not be considered for certification.

All application materials become the property of IBTSA and will not be returned to the applicant.  All questions should be directed to IBTSA at the above e-mail or address.
